October 17th, 2008 by Place Textiles

Place Textiles is pleased to announce the introduction of The Bantry Bay Collection. Inspired by the exceptional textiles produced along the west coast of Ireland in the last century, the fabrics of Bantry Bay reflect a cherished tradition that is all but gone. Appealing yarns of primarily wool and linen are combined in the natural colors of the Irish landscape to create a luxurious collection of textiles for the home.

Bantry Check is a timeless houndstooth check of medium scale woven from pure virgin wool. Wonderful for upholstery, drapery or wrapped surfaces, this enduring classic is available in four colors – Bluff, Moss, Hickory and Mockingbird.

The coziest of the collection, Clare is an ultra-soft wool flannel that employs centuries-old finishing techniques that make it divine to the touch. Available in five traditional flannel colors, Clare is perfect for all residential upholstery and drapery applications.

Using a combination of fibers and complex spinning techniques, Blarney is a robust texture that celebrates the look and feel of hand-spun, hand-woven fabrics. Six organic colors reflect the hues associated with natural dyes and the Irish landscape.

Arranmore employs multiple plies of quality linen yarn and weaves them into an exceptionally heavy two-over-two cloth that is ideal for a multitude of applications. Four perfectly classic colors – Dover, Straw, Dune and Peat – make Arranmore a sophisticated choice.

Killarney captures the true essence of what was the Irish tradition in hand weaving. Snowy white wool has been spun into two different boucle yarns to create a texture that could only be compared to a fluffy spring lamb. The result is a stunning fabric that is elegant and inviting. Killarney is available in five colors that range from subtle to striking.

The fabrics of the Bantry Bay Collection provide an exceptional level of comfort and have enduring appeal.
